A Scholarly Non-Profit Delivering Graphic Facilitation, Strategic Planning, Research, and Communication Services for Intercultural and Interreligious Initiatives
OVERVIEW
The Center for Convivencia (TCFC) is a scholarly nonprofit organization that advances public knowledge and understanding of the historical precedence of convivencia—the “co-existence” of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities during the Middle Ages. TCFC’s mission is to promote the study and dissemination of the positive and negative forms of convivencia so that the public and policy makers recognize how history shapes and informs these three faith groups’ current global interactions. TCFC envisions that its work will contribute to current intercultural and international dialogues that seek to develop pragmatic approaches to addressing perceived and real conflicts between these groups in the United States and Europe. The center actively promotes the study of convivencia by publishing and disseminating its own research as well as funding the studies of academicians and policy makers. Additionally, it contributes intellectual resources to other collaborative organizations that seek to engage in improving intercultural and religious understanding. Lastly, TCFC provides consulting services (expertise, process, and implementation) to international organizations, education institutions, and the private sector. At present, the center is currently incorporating as a non-profit entity. For more information, contact info@thecenterforconvivencia.org.
